Foreword: Discover Yule Reiki in the Spirit of Christmas! Since ancient times, Yule celebrates the rebirth of the Sun during the longest night and shortest day of the year. Derived from the Norse word for "wheel," Yule means "wheel of the year." Our Christmas customs stem from Norse and Celtic Pagan traditions.
 
On the Winter Solstice, the darkest of nights, the Goddess becomes the Great Mother and once again gives birth to the Sun, beginning the yearly cycle anew. This brings new light and hope to the world. On this longest night of winter flares the spark of hope, the Sacred Fire, the Light of the World.
